Team Towers
Two to four teams each build a medina tower by solving calculations. A right answer adds a block, a mistake knocks off the top one: better to think than to answer at random.

What pupils practice
- Build fluency in addition and subtraction, first up to 20, then with numbers from 10 to 99.
- Memorize the times tables from 2 to 10 and the matching exact divisions.
- Quickly find doubles (up to 50) and halves (up to 100).
- Get into the habit of checking an answer before confirming it.
How to play
- Choose the number of teams, the type of calculation and the height of the tower: 6, 8 or 10 blocks.
- Each team answers on its own pad, typing the number or choosing from 4 answers.
- A right answer adds a block. A mistake makes the top block fall and locks the pad for 1.5 seconds.
- The first tower to reach the gold line wins. The podium shows the height reached and the number of falls.
In the classroom
Send one representative per team, then change at every calculation or every thirty seconds. Seated pupils work out the answer on mini whiteboards, so everyone calculates even without touching the board.
On a multi-touch board, teams play at the same time. If yours recognizes only one touch, have the teams play one after another.
Useful settings
- “4 choices” mode suits younger pupils and those who write numbers slowly.
- You can type your own questions to review what you have just covered.
- The small tower (6 blocks) takes only a few minutes: handy at the start of a lesson.
